Robert Patrick (Pat) Flickinger age 37
was mortally injured during a vehicular accident

Lighthorse Police Special Agent Robert Patrick (Pat) Flickinger was born
August 11th 1970 and on March 7th 2008 was mortally injured during a vehicular accident
while he was on duty in Marshall County.

Agent Flickinger was hired as a uniformed police officer with the Chickasaw Nation’s Lighthorse
Police Department on September 27th 2004. He was promoted to a Special Agent on
October 15th 2007 and was assigned to work narcotics enforcement.

Agent Flickinger had a total of 16 years of law enforcement experience, was a veteran of the
US Navy and graduate of the FBI National Academy. Agent Flickinger was a member of both the
Lighthorse Police Scuba-Dive Team and Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team.

Agent Flickinger considered it an honor to serve his community and was well respected within the
law enforcement community. Agent Flickinger listed on his resume that his personal goal was to
maintain integrity in order to be a positive role model to his daughter and community.

I absolutely believe he accomplished his goal. The Chickasaw Nation and State of Oklahoma
have lost a hero. Agent Flickinger will be missed dearly and our prayers go out to his family.

Services are planned for Wednesday March 12th, 2008 at 2p.m. at the
Watts Funeral Home in Madill.

To all of our members,

I have received some sad information about Past A-One President and sergeant with the Midwest City Police Department, Stephen Owens.

Stephen has been diagnosed with a brain cancer. I have been told that Steve has been given six months to one year. Wayne Stinnett has set up a bank account for donations. I am asking the membership to send their donations to Wayne in support of our brother member Stephen. We plan to keep this account open until our first state meeting, which will be in October, and then presenting all proceeds to Stephen and his family. We are also looking at some other ideas to assist Stephen and his family. Keep Stephen and his family in your prayers as they fight this battle.

Pete Moore
President

PS: The family requests that nobody call or stop by while they deal with this sad news.

Please send donations to:

A message from Stephen Owens (9/12/07):

I appreciate you posting information about my condition on the A-ONE website. I want everyone to know that I appreciate their prayers and support during this difficult time.

The successful treatment of this cancer (Anaplastic Astrocytoma) normally involves complete removal of the tumor, followed by radiation and chemotherapy. According to my neurosurgeon and oncologists, my tumor cannot be removed. The location of the tumor is too deep in the white matter that makes me who I am. Normally, with radiation and chemotherapy only, patients survive 3 to 5 years.

Although the doctors gave a grim prognosis, I have heard several success stories about people that have survived this kind of cancer. Several men and women my age have beaten the cancer and have done so for over 10 years. I have faith that God will use this disease for His glory and will heal me when He is ready. I have turned this disease and its consequences over to God and have received strength and hope in return. I am conviced that I will be the exception, and I will be the one that doctors write about in medical journals for years to come.

Tomorrow, my wife and I travel to M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston to meet with one of the best neuro-oncologists in the world. This consultation will involve a review of my oncologists' treatment plan and recommendations from a board of neuro-oncologists. We are hopeful that my treatment can be done locally, but we are willing to stay in Houston if it is required. I want everyone to know that I am a fighter, and I'm not going to quit. There are still plenty of drug dealers in Midwest City who need my undivided attention. If I have anything to say about it, my law enforcement career is not over.

I thank everyone for allowing me some time with my family, but I would love to hear from the friends I have made through A-ONE. If you could post my work e-mail address, sowens@midwestcityok.org, I would appreciate it. This is probably the best way to stay in contact with me, especially since my treatment schedule is up the air right now. I check the mail remotely every day.

Thank you and God bless you,

Steve

To All Officers:

Most of you have probably already seen this on the news.

Ft Smith Police Dept Officer Danny Martinez was shot and killed in the line of duty on March, 23 2007.

Danny Martinez

Danny had worked at Ft Smith since July of 2006. Before working at Ft Smith Danny had been a life long Police Officer in LeFlore County at several departments. Danny was a long time active member of the District 16 Drug Task Force. Danny was not only a brother to all of LeFlore County Law Enforcement he was a friend. We all loved him and are deeply sadden and lost with out him. Danny still lived in Wister, OK, he had a wife and 5 children. Danny was the model Police Officer for us all to follow, he always treated people kind and loved working with children, while he vigilantly combated the narcotic problem in LeFlore County. Danny was a long time member of A-ONE and had not renewed his membership this year when he went to work in Ft Smith. There has been an account set up for his wife and children at Arvest Bank under the name Officer Martinez. I urge all of you to please donate something; his wife could use the help right now. You can donate at Arvest or get in touch with me and I will assure all donations from us make it to his wife. I would love to see the A-One members pull a large quantity of money together a help the Martinez family in this time of need.

Our thoughts and Prayers go out to the Martinez family.

Up Date on Officer Shooting

On June 20th, 2007 Agents with the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs, District 6 DTF in Comanche County, District 5 DTF in Grady County, and a uniformed officer from the Lawton Police Department attempted to serve a search warrant on a condominium at 2802 N.E. 9th street in east Lawton when the incident occurred. The officers had knocked and announced, but received no response. As they tried to make entry they began taking rounds from inside the condo-- Mark Woodward, OBN Spokesman

Woodward says one of the agents was struck in the hand, while a Task Force Agent was shot in the right side of his torso. According to Woodward, officers returned fire, fatally wounding Darren Alan Howell. Woodward said OBN Agent Dennis Garza is recovering at home from a gunshot wound to his left hand and a shrapnel laceration to his face. Drug Task Force Officer Tim Cole, shot in the right side of his upper torso, is still “day to day” as doctors monitor him for infection. However, his prognosis is positive at this point. Tim has already begun some therapy and he has regained some feeling in the upper portion of his right leg. Right now, Doctors are optimistic that through continued therapy, and as shock/swelling in his back (spinal area) are reduced, Tim will continue regaining mobility. Doctors also believe that most of his internal injuries (including trauma to his liver and kidney) will continue to heal on its own over time. It will be a long road to recovery, but we are continuing to keep Tim and his Family in our prayers.
